Kamle, Arunachal Pradesh, 3 May 2025 – In a heartening step towards empowering youth through sports in the Northeast, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated the Khelo India Multipurpose Hall in the Kamle district of Arunachal Pradesh today. The event marked a moment of pride and hope for the region, bringing a long-awaited boost to grassroots sports infrastructure in a remote yet vibrant part of the country.
The modern facility, constructed at a cost of ₹8 crore with full funding from the Central Government, stands as a testament to the Centre’s vision of equitable development and inclusivity. Designed to nurture budding talent, the hall offers state-of-the-art training facilities for a wide range of indoor sports, including boxing, badminton, judo, wushu, karate, taekwondo, weightlifting, table tennis, and volleyball.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mandaviya underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening sports culture across all regions of India. He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of reaching every corner of the country to find and support talent. “Arunachal Pradesh holds great potential, and it is our responsibility to ensure that youth here have the right platform to showcase their abilities and grow into national and international champions,” he said.
In a warm exchange with local athletes and residents, the Union Minister encouraged young sportspersons to dream big and use the facility to its fullest. His words reflected both admiration for the spirit of the Northeast and a genuine desire to bring opportunities to those who have often been overlooked in mainstream development narratives.
The presence of state ministers Shri Kento Jini and Shri Nyato Dukam, along with MLA Shri Rotom Tebin, added to the celebratory atmosphere, reaffirming the collective commitment to nurturing sports talent in the region. With such initiatives, Kamle and other districts of Arunachal Pradesh are poised to become new centers of sporting excellence, symbolizing hope, unity, and the promise of a brighter future through sports.
