Lok Sabha Speaker Charts Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, Calls for Inclusive and Innovation-Driven Growth

In a heartfelt and visionary address at the 120th anniversary celebration of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla laid out a compelling roadmap for a “Viksit Bharat 2047” — a fully developed and empowered India. He underscored the essential role that industry and commerce play in realizing this national aspiration and urged all stakeholders to embrace a development model that is not only economically sound but also sustainable, inclusive, and deeply rooted in innovation.

Shri Birla reflected on the present era as one of unprecedented economic empowerment and technological progress. With optimism and pride, he emphasized that India is not just recovering from the global pandemic — it is thriving, serving as a beacon of hope for the developing world. The government’s development-oriented policies, he noted, are providing fresh energy to Indian industries, revitalizing entrepreneurship, and positioning India as a preferred destination for global investment.

Speaking with a tone of confidence and responsibility, Shri Birla affirmed that the nation’s current trade policy reflects the larger vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat — a self-reliant India. He pointed to flagship initiatives like Make in India, Digital India, Gati Shakti, and Bharatmala, among others, as transformative programs that are weaving a strong fabric of industrial infrastructure across the nation. These efforts, supported by simplified regulations and a transparent tax regime, are creating a business environment where innovation and enterprise can flourish.

India, he remarked, is rapidly evolving from a consumption-driven economy into a powerhouse of creativity and technological innovation. He especially praised the country’s vibrant start-up ecosystem for offering fresh ideas and bold solutions, driving sustainable development, and helping India take firm steps toward becoming a global superpower.

Highlighting the dawn of a new economic era, Shri Birla spoke about the integration of advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics into India’s productivity landscape. This technological transformation, he said, is not only boosting efficiency but also fostering transparency and inclusiveness. He expressed particular appreciation for the remarkable rise of digital transactions, which have enabled even remote corners of India to connect with the mainstream economy, ensuring that the benefits of growth and development reach all.

With genuine appreciation, Shri Birla lauded the PHD Chamber for acting as a crucial link between industry and policymakers. He acknowledged its thoughtful contributions and policy recommendations, which help shape progressive governance. He also praised the Chamber’s efforts in supporting women entrepreneurs through dedicated programmes that provide mentorship, networking, and capacity building. These initiatives, he said, have played a transformative role in empowering women and amplifying their presence in the economic and industrial landscape.

Shri Birla’s address reflected a deep commitment to a future where progress is shared by all, where innovation leads the way, and where every Indian, regardless of geography or gender, has a role in shaping the nation’s destiny. His words offered not just a roadmap, but a heartfelt invitation — to build together, dream together, and grow together toward a truly developed and inclusive India.
