Acting on credible intelligence, CBN officers conducted a strategic raid at Teerth Nursery and Farms, a secluded double-storeyed farmhouse approximately 3.5 km from the main road. Three individuals were detained at the site during the operation, which exposed a fully functional illicit drug manufacturing setup.
During the search, officers recovered the massive consignment of MD powder from a concealed bag within the premises. Subsequent interrogation revealed that the accused had been producing the psychotropic substance in-house. The operation also uncovered various utensils, halogen bulbs, and machinery used for MD synthesis, along with approximately 600 kilograms of precursor chemicals found in a Mahindra Bolero pickup parked nearby. All items were seized under the NDPS Act, 1985.
Investigations revealed that two of the arrested individuals were involved in large-scale MD powder production and possessed sufficient chemicals (except one essential precursor) to manufacture 250–300 kilograms, underlining the severe threat posed to public safety.
The Central Bureau of Narcotics reiterated its commitment to combat drug trafficking and illicit manufacturing as part of the nationwide “Nasha Mukt Bharat” initiative, aiming to create a drug-free India through relentless enforcement actions.
All three accused have been arrested under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, and further investigations are underway to dismantle the entire network involved in the manufacturing and distribution of MD powder.
