With 130 boats operating throughout the 45-day festival, the family reportedly made an astounding ₹30 crore in profit, with each boat earning between ₹50,000 and ₹52,000 daily.
The scale of Maha Kumbh 2025 was historic, drawing over 66 crore visitors from across India and the world. The government poured in ₹7,500 crore to enhance infrastructure and services, creating a seamless experience for pilgrims. With millions gathering daily, not a single case of major crime—including harassment, kidnapping, robbery, or murder—was reported. Former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai dismissed claims of ₹3 lakh crore in economic activity as exaggerated, arguing that much of the spending was outside the scope of GST. He pointed out that while the event generated massive local economic activity, the real tax collections might not reflect the projected figures.
