According to the Minister’s written reply, approximately 1,64,000 4G and 40,000 5G Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) have been installed across Maharashtra. This strategic expansion underscores the government’s commitment to providing fast, reliable, and accessible digital connectivity in line with the Digital India initiative.

Connectivity in the Konkan Region

This extensive network deployment ensures reliable connectivity for residents, businesses, and public services, while laying the foundation for seamless transition to 5G technologies in the near future.

Digital Empowerment Across Maharashtra

The Union Minister stated that the expansion of 5G infrastructure, combined with near-complete 4G coverage, will accelerate digital empowerment across the state. Citizens can now expect faster internet speeds, improved mobile services, and better access to digital tools for education, healthcare, governance, and commerce.

Shri Scindia emphasized that this development aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision, ensuring that every citizen benefits from high-quality digital connectivity. Continued investment in telecom infrastructure will also support economic growth, innovation, and a more connected society.

The government’s efforts in Maharashtra serve as a model for nationwide digital infrastructure expansion. With ongoing deployment of 5G networks, the state is set to strengthen its position as a leader in digital adoption, bridging the urban-rural digital divide.
