“Massive Pilgrim Surge at Nepal Border as Maha Kumbh Nears Conclusion”

RR Team, February 22, 2025February 22, 2025

The Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj has drawn an overwhelming number of devotees, leading to an unprecedented surge in pilgrim movement at the Nepal border near Jayanagar. As the sacred event nears its conclusion on February 26, thousands of people from different walks of life are making their way to take a holy dip at the Sangam, a practice believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual enlightenment.

Authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and convenience of these pilgrims. Samastipur divisional railway manager Vinay Srivastava stated that Indian Railways, in collaboration with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and local administration, has implemented various measures to manage the growing crowds. Special trains have been introduced, additional security personnel deployed, and coordination efforts enhanced to facilitate seamless travel for devotees.

Ensuring a secure pilgrimage, railway stations along the Jayanagar-Samastipur route are witnessing heightened vigilance. SDRF and RPF personnel are stationed at key transit points to maintain order, assist passengers, and provide immediate support in case of emergencies. Volunteers are actively managing crowd control, and medical teams are on standby to address any health-related concerns.

With the final dip drawing closer, railway authorities anticipate even larger congregations. Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway, Saraswati Chandra, emphasized that safety remains the top priority. Devotees have been urged to adhere to all guidelines and protocols to ensure a smooth and incident-free experience. Special Kumbh trains from Jayanagar, Darbhanga, and Saharsa have been pressed into service to accommodate the growing influx of travelers.

The Maha Kumbh, recognized as the world’s largest religious gathering, is a testament to India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. The collective faith of millions converging at Prayagraj symbolizes unity, devotion, and the enduring power of tradition. Authorities continue to work tirelessly to support this monumental event, ensuring that every pilgrim’s journey remains both fulfilling and safe.
