MILMEDICON-2025 Opens in Delhi, Focus on Military Medicine

New Delhi, August 29: Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth inaugurated MILMEDICON-2025, the International Conference on Physical and Mental Trauma in Military Settings, at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. Organized by the Directorate General of Medical Services (Army), the two-day event brings together global experts to deliberate on innovations, challenges, and reforms in military medicine.

India’s Commitment to Military Healthcare

In his inaugural address, Shri Sanjay Seth underlined India’s dedication to advancing military medicine through global collaboration, cutting-edge research, and a strong respect for the service legacy of armed forces. He described the conference as both a tribute to soldiers and a step toward building future-ready healthcare systems for military personnel.

Focus Areas of MILMEDICON-2025

The conference aligns with the Indian Army’s declared Year of Reforms, going beyond a scientific gathering to become a strategic initiative for strengthening trauma care capabilities in operational environments. Sessions will cover topics such as advanced combat trauma care, integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare, emergency response innovations, and the evolving role of women in combat medical leadership.

Centenary of Military Nursing Service

MILMEDICON-2025 also marks the centenary celebration of the Military Nursing Service, recognizing 100 years of exemplary service and the contribution of Nari Shakti in combat medical care. Special panels are dedicated to honoring their role in battlefield resilience and leadership.

Global Participation

Over 15 countries are represented at the conference through delegations, poster presentations, and scientific exhibitions. Senior officials of the Indian Armed Forces, international military doctors, civilian healthcare professionals, and academicians are engaging in dialogues to enhance preparedness for both combat and humanitarian missions.

Strengthening International Cooperation

By fostering global exchange and showcasing innovations, MILMEDICON-2025 aims to build partnerships that improve battlefield trauma management and resilience. The outcomes of the conference are expected to contribute significantly to India’s ongoing defense medical reforms and its vision for comprehensive, technology-driven military healthcare.
