Ministry of Steel to Hold Open House on Steel Imports

RR Team, October 23, 2025October 23, 2025
The Ministry of Steel is set to host an Open House on 27th October 2025 at the Steel Room in Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi, focusing on issues related to the import of steel. This initiative provides a structured platform for companies and associations to present concerns and challenges regarding steel imports.
The Open House will run from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm. To participate, interested organisations must secure a confirmed time slot by sending an email to tech-steel@nic.in. Walk-in participation will not be allowed due to logistical constraints, and only one representative per company or association will be permitted.

How to Register

Organisations wishing to participate must provide the following details in their registration email:

  • Name of the company or association
  • Nature of the issue (SIMS/NOC/QCO/others)
  • Name and designation of the participant (third-party representation not allowed)
  • Reference number of SIMS/NOC application, if applicable
  • Type of industry and product (e.g., Auto, Aerospace, Telecom, Defence)
  • Brief description of the issue (maximum 50 words)
  • Contact details of the nodal person (mobile number and email)

Organisations must submit their requests by 11:00 am on 24th October 2025 to ensure allocation of time slots. Specific timings will be communicated via email following registration.

Purpose of the Open House

The Ministry aims to address import-related challenges in a transparent manner, enabling smoother processes for stakeholders involved in the steel sector. By providing a dedicated forum, the Open House ensures that companies’ operational concerns are heard and documented effectively.

This platform also facilitates better coordination between the Ministry and industry players, particularly for issues concerning SIMS, NOCs, QCOs, and other regulatory aspects. It underscores the government’s commitment to supporting the steel industry while maintaining regulatory compliance and efficient import operations.
