Ministry of Textiles Hosts Cyber Security Awareness Session

The Ministry of Textiles organized a Cyber Security Awareness Session at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi, as part of the Government of India’s ongoing Special Campaign 5.0. This initiative aims to enhance cyber hygiene, digital resilience, and governance excellence across all affiliated offices.
The hybrid session enabled broad participation, with 25–30 officials attending physically and over 100 joining virtually from subordinate offices, autonomous bodies, and public sector undertakings under the Ministry. The training focused on practical strategies to counter evolving cyber threats in the government workspace.

  • Cyber hygiene and safe internet practices
  • Email security and phishing threat detection
  • Secure password protocols and multi-factor authentication
  • Mitigating risks from ransomware and malware
  • Standard operating procedures for reporting cyber incidents

Experts delivered interactive presentations, providing practical guidance tailored for government office environments. Officials actively engaged with the speakers, clarifying doubts and reinforcing their understanding of cybersecurity protocols.

Special Campaign 5.0 Progress Highlights

The Cyber Security Awareness Session is part of a broader push under Special Campaign 5.0, which includes cleanliness, record management, and digital efficiency reforms. Key achievements include:

  • Processing of 35 MP references, 15 public grievances, and 2 PMO references.
  • Review of 1,205 physical files, with 207 files weeded out.
  • Evaluation of 61 e-files, with 18 successfully closed.
  • 75 awareness campaigns conducted across various offices.
  • Disposal of scrap items freeing 1,627 sq. ft. of space and generating ₹75,262 revenue.
  • 5 PG appeals disposed during the campaign.

The Ministry continues to monitor the implementation phase, ensuring remaining targets are achieved in a timely manner while sustaining the reforms initiated.

This initiative reinforces the Ministry of Textiles’ commitment to cultivating a secure digital work environment. By equipping officials with cybersecurity skills, the Ministry aims to create cyber-aware ambassadors across departments, enhancing overall governance and service delivery.
