Nationwide Health Camps
More than one lakh health camps will be organised in government health facilities such as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres, and District Hospitals. Daily camps will ensure access to preventive, promotive, and curative health services at the grassroots level.
Public representatives including Union Ministers, MPs, state leaders, ASHA and Anganwadi workers, SHGs, PRIs, and MY Bharat volunteers will drive community participation. The campaign reflects a Jan Bhagidari approach, engaging citizens in health awareness and screenings.
Comprehensive Health Services
The initiative will focus on women’s preventive health and nutrition through:
- Non-Communicable Diseases: Screening for hypertension, diabetes, and obesity with lifestyle counselling.
- Cancer Screening: Oral, breast, and cervical cancer checks, including breast self-exam demonstrations.
- Anaemia & Nutrition: Haemoglobin testing, IFA supplementation, deworming, and healthy recipe demonstrations.
- Tuberculosis: Sputum testing, mobile X-ray units, and treatment linkages through DOTS centres.
- Sickle Cell Disease: Special focus on tribal communities with screenings and counselling.
- Maternal & Child Health: Antenatal care, growth monitoring, MCP cards, and immunisation drives.
- Blood Donation: Nationwide blood donation campaigns linked to e-Raktkosh portal.
- Digital Health Services: Enrolment under PM-JAY, ABHA, and Ayushman Vaya Vandana.
- AYUSH: Yoga sessions and Ayurveda consultations for holistic well-being.
Whole-of-Government Approach
Several ministries will join forces to maximise the impact. The Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj will mobilise SHGs and PRIs, while the Ministry of Education will involve schools and universities. The Ministry of Youth Affairs will activate MY Bharat volunteers, and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs will focus on outreach in tribal communities. Defence, Railways, Labour, and Ayush ministries will organise health camps within their institutions.
This convergence aims to ensure last-mile delivery of services, bridging gaps in women’s and children’s health access, particularly in underserved regions.
Health, Nutrition, and Empowerment
The campaign aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of an inclusive and healthy India. By combining healthcare with nutrition awareness, it strengthens the link between ‘Swasth Nari’ (healthy women) and ‘Sashakt Parivar’ (empowered families). From anaemia prevention and menstrual hygiene promotion to lifestyle counselling and mental health awareness, the initiative seeks to foster long-term behavioural changes in communities.
Health Minister J.P. Nadda has appealed to private hospitals and healthcare stakeholders to actively participate, underlining the importance of collective effort in shaping a healthier India.
