At a recent Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting in Vladivostok, India highlighted the role of services trade and temporary movement of skilled professionals. Additional Secretary Amitabh Kumar, representing the Ministry of Commerce & Industry at the SCO Trade Ministers’ meeting, stressed coordinated action among member states to support inclusive growth and mitigate the negative impacts of tariffs. Government sources suggest this message will be reiterated at the BRICS summit.

China’s foreign ministry confirmed that President Xi will deliver an “important speech” during the summit.
