MoSPI Reports Success, Prepares for Special Campaign 5.0

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has reported significant progress under the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) from January to August 2025. The campaign reviewed 1,257 files, of which 638 were successfully weeded out, and organized 52 cleanliness drives across its offices, freeing up 4,235 sq. ft. of office space. Public grievances, PMO references, state government communications, and appeals were also efficiently addressed during this period.

Launching Special Campaign 5.0

Building on these accomplishments, the Government of India will launch Special Campaign 5.0 from 2nd to 31st October 2025. The new phase will focus on safe disposal of e-waste in compliance with the E-Waste Management Rules, 2022, efficient utilization of office space, improved record management, and enhanced workplace experience across MoSPI field offices.

Preparatory Phase

The preparatory phase, scheduled from 15th to 30th September 2025, will prioritize the identification of pending references from the PMO, VIPs, state governments, and Parliament. MoSPI will also strengthen record-keeping and space management practices to ensure a smooth implementation of the campaign.

Implementation Phase

During the implementation phase from 2nd to 31st October, offices will leverage digital tools such as e-Office, e-HRMS, and PFMS to streamline operations. Special attention will be given to the safe and responsible disposal of e-waste, promoting sustainable office practices across the ministry’s network.

Special Campaign 5.0 aims to consolidate the gains of earlier campaigns, reinforcing MoSPI’s commitment to transparent, efficient, and environmentally responsible governance. The initiative will ensure timely disposal of pending matters while enhancing overall operational efficiency across the ministry.
