Musk Slams Trump’s ‘Beautiful Bill’ as Politically Suicidal

In a fresh wave of criticism, Elon Musk has lashed out at former President Donald Trump over his flagship legislative proposal — the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill”. Musk called the bill “utterly insane” and “politically suicidal,” intensifying the public rift between the billionaire innovator and the former president.

Musk’s Core Argument

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his deep concerns. “The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country,” he posted on Saturday. According to Musk, the bill offers “handouts to industries of the past” while it “severely damages industries of the future.”

He also shared a poll indicating that the Republican base largely disapproves of the bill, warning it could be a “political suicide” for the Republican Party ahead of the 2026 midterms.

Fallout from DOGE and Oval Office

Just weeks ago, Musk celebrated his exit from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with a photo op in the Oval Office. But the tone has since changed dramatically. He previously described the bill as a “pork-filled, disgusting abomination” and publicly shamed senators who supported it, stating, “You know you did wrong. You know it.”

Though Musk later issued a public apology to Trump, tensions have clearly reignited as the Senate moved forward with the bill.

Senate Drama: Vote Narrowly Advances

The bill — a massive 1,000-page proposal — advanced after a dramatic late-night Senate session. The motion to proceed passed narrowly at 51-49. Two Republicans broke ranks and voted against the measure, joining all Democrats. Vice President JD Vance was on standby to break any tie.

Inside the chamber, scenes were tense as holdout senators engaged in heated discussions, delaying proceedings for hours. Despite the division, Trump remains determined to pass the package by his self-imposed July 4 deadline.

What’s Inside ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’?

The bill reportedly includes tax cuts, spending reductions, and increased funding for immigration enforcement. Critics argue it disproportionately favors outdated sectors and ignores innovation-focused policies. Supporters say it realigns national priorities toward economic self-reliance and border control.

Musk vs Trump: What’s Next?

This feud reflects a growing division among conservatives over economic direction. While Trump leans on traditional manufacturing and energy sectors, Musk represents the tech-driven future. Whether this public clash impacts electoral outcomes or policy direction remains to be seen.
