National Arogya Fair 2026 Begins in Shegaon

RR Team, February 23, 2026February 23, 2026
The holy town of Shegaon in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district is set to host the four-day National Arogya Fair 2026 from February 25 to 28, bringing India’s traditional systems of medicine under one roof. Organised by the Ministry of Ayush in collaboration with the All India Ayurvedic Congress, the mega event aims to promote holistic healthcare and create new livelihood opportunities for farmers.
The fair will be inaugurated on February 25 by President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu at Visava Maidan of Sant Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan. The ceremony will also be attended by the Governor of Maharashtra, Union Minister of Ayush Shri Prataprao Jadhav, senior state officials and other dignitaries.

Comprehensive Ayush Health Services

Citizens visiting the National Arogya Fair 2026 will have access to free health check-ups, expert consultations and medicines across multiple Ayush streams. These include Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy.

The event will feature live therapy counters, yoga demonstrations, thematic exhibitions and interactive sessions focusing on preventive and promotive healthcare. Separate stalls for each Ayush stream will enable visitors to explore the diversity of India’s traditional medicine systems in one place.

Reputed Ayush pharmaceutical and wellness companies are expected to showcase quality standards, research advancements and good manufacturing practices. A dedicated medicinal plant exhibition will also introduce visitors to home-based remedies for daily health needs.

Special Focus on Farmers’ Welfare

A key highlight of the National Arogya Fair 2026 is its dedicated focus on farmers, particularly from Vidarbha and Buldhana district. The fair seeks to encourage agroforestry and the cultivation of medicinal plants as sustainable and profitable alternatives to conventional farming.

A special programme titled “Ayurvedic Farming, Production and Marketing” is scheduled for February 27 at 3 pm at the Visava premises. Farmers will receive guidance from experts on cultivation techniques, processing, value addition and marketing strategies for forest-based and medicinal crops.

Union Ayush Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav has appealed to farmers to actively participate in the initiative. He emphasised that allocating a portion of farmland to medicinal plant cultivation can ensure sustainable and remunerative income while strengthening the Ayush value chain.

Twin Objective: Health and Economic Growth

Conceived under the guidance of the Union Ayush Minister, the fair aims to achieve a dual purpose. It seeks to expand awareness and accessibility of Ayush-based healthcare while simultaneously improving the economic well-being of farmers through medicinal plant-based agriculture.

By integrating traditional agricultural practices with Ayurvedic farming, farmers can diversify income sources and tap into growing demand for natural and herbal products. The initiative is also expected to boost agroforestry practices and promote value-added processing.

The Ministry of Ayush has invited citizens, self-help groups, students, health volunteers and stakeholders from Maharashtra and neighbouring states to visit Shegaon and participate in the event.

With free healthcare services, educational exhibitions and farmer-focused initiatives, the National Arogya Fair 2026 promises to be a significant step toward strengthening India’s traditional medicine systems and enhancing rural livelihoods.
