National Kayachikitsa Training Held in Karnataka

RR Team, February 26, 2026February 26, 2026
Karnataka: In a significant push towards strengthening clinical expertise in Ayurveda, the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV) conducted a two-day National Training Programme on Kayachikitsa in Karnataka from February 23 to 24, 2026. The programme brought together leading academicians and practitioners to enhance professional competencies in Ayurvedic internal medicine.

Focus on Strengthening Clinical Knowledge

The training programme was hosted at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda & Hospital. Designed to deepen understanding of Kayachikitsa — the branch of Ayurveda dealing with internal medicine — the sessions emphasized contemporary clinical applications and evolving treatment approaches.

Participants engaged in structured academic discussions, practical insights, and expert-led deliberations aimed at bridging traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern healthcare demands.

Distinguished Dignitaries at the Inaugural Ceremony

The inaugural session was attended by prominent figures in the field of Ayurveda education. Dr. Vandana Siroha, Director of RAV, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of continuous medical education in preserving the authenticity and effectiveness of Ayurveda.

Prof. Prasanna Narasimha Rao, Director of SDM Ayurveda Institutes under the SDM Educational Society, Ujire, underscored the growing relevance of evidence-based Ayurvedic practice. Dr. Shailaja Uppinakuduru, Principal of SDM College of Ayurveda & Hospital, Hassan, welcomed the participants and emphasized institutional collaboration.

Dr. B. G. Gopinath, former Professor and Head of the Department of Kayachikitsa at Government Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru, and former Dean at Sri Sri Ayurveda Medical College, Bengaluru, shared insights into the evolution of Kayachikitsa teaching methodologies in India.

Expert-Led Academic Sessions

The academic sessions were led by seasoned experts in the discipline. Dr. Totad Muttappa, Head of the Department of Kayachikitsa at SDM Ayurveda College & Hospital, Hassan, elaborated on practical clinical case management strategies.

Dr. Veena G. Rao, Professor of Kayachikitsa at JSS Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru, focused on integrating classical Ayurvedic frameworks with contemporary diagnostic tools.

Vaidya S. N. Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Maganbhai Adenwala Mahagujarat Ayurved University, delivered a detailed session on advancing research orientation among Ayurveda practitioners and promoting academic excellence nationwide.

Interactive Learning and Professional Growth

The programme featured interactive discussions, case-based analyses, and collaborative learning modules. Participants actively exchanged views on clinical challenges and innovative therapeutic approaches within the framework of classical Ayurveda.

The initiative reflects RAV’s broader commitment to advancing quality education and standardizing clinical practice in Ayurveda across India. By organizing such focused training sessions, the institution aims to empower practitioners with updated knowledge while maintaining adherence to traditional principles.

Boosting Ayurveda’s National Presence

With the increasing global interest in Ayurveda and holistic healthcare systems, capacity-building programmes such as this assume greater significance. The training reinforced the importance of continuous academic development for practitioners to remain aligned with evolving healthcare standards.

The successful completion of the two-day programme marks another milestone in strengthening Ayurveda education and professional excellence in Karnataka and beyond.
