Navratri 2024 Day 4: Divine Blessings of Goddess Kushmanda – Worship Rituals and Significance

RR Team, October 6, 2024October 6, 2024

On the fourth day of Shardiye Navratri 2024, devotees honor and worship Maa Kushmanda, the fourth divine form of Maa Durga. The significance of her worship is immense, as it is believed that she blesses her devotees with invincibility and immense power. Worshipping her with a calm and pure heart, alongside a sweet voice, brings forth her divine blessings.

The Glory of Maa Kushmanda

Maa Kushmanda is revered as the creator of the universe. It is said that when there was complete darkness, her gentle smile brought light and created the world, earning her the title of Adi Swarupa and Adishakti, the primal force of the universe. Her glory is unique, and she holds a special place among the Navdurga forms.

Who is Maa Kushmanda?

Maa Kushmanda is depicted with eight arms, holding various powerful objects in her hands, each with symbolic meaning. She carries a kamandal, bow, arrow, lotus flower, urn, chakra, and mace in her seven hands. Her eighth hand holds a rosary, bestowing siddhis (spiritual powers) and treasures upon her devotees. She rides a lion, symbolizing courage and dharma, and her Amrit Kalash (pot of nectar) brings long life and good health.

How to Worship Maa Kushmanda (Puja Vidhi)

On the fourth day of Navratri, devotees should wear green or orange clothes, as these colors are considered auspicious. During the puja, offer the goddess green cardamom, fennel, or pumpkin. It is recommended to provide as many green cardamoms as your age, chanting “Om Bum Budhaya Namah” with each offering. Afterward, collect the cardamoms and tie them in a green cloth to keep them safe until the end of Navratri.

Worshipping Maa Kushmanda is believed to resolve Mercury-related issues in one’s horoscope. Astrological remedies also suggest that by pleasing Maa Kushmanda, devotees can quickly receive her blessings, bringing peace, prosperity, and happiness.

Simple Remedy to Please Maa Kushmanda (Upay)

To seek Maa Kushmanda’s favor, offer curd and halwa as bhog on the fourth day of Navratri. Additionally, present her with fruits, dry fruits, and other auspicious items. By doing so with a sincere heart, devotees can fulfill their deepest desires, receiving her grace and blessings for a happy and prosperous life.
