Navratri, one of the most celebrated Hindu festivals, begins on September 22, 2025, and continues till October 2, 2025. The third day, September 24, 2025, honors Maa Chandraghanta, the wedded form of Goddess Parvati. She symbolizes courage, discipline, and justice. Adorned with a half-moon bell on her forehead, she rides a lion and possesses ten hands holding weapons, a lotus, and sacred items. Devotees worship her for material prosperity, health, success, and spiritual peace. Her bell-shaped crescent purifies the aura and removes negativity.

The royal blue color is associated with Maa Chandraghanta and is considered highly auspicious. Wearing this color during her puja is believed to enhance devotion and bring positive energy into the home.

Maa Chandraghanta Puja Rituals

Devotees follow specific rituals to honor Maa Chandraghanta on Day 3 of Navratri:

  • Wake up early and take a holy bath.
  • Light a diya with desi ghee and offer garlands, sweets, tilak, and kumkum.
  • Recite Durga Chalisa and Durga Saptashati Path.
  • Offer milk as bhog prasad and other sattvik delicacies.
  • In the evening, perform Durga Aarti with devotion.
  • After puja, break the fast with sattvik food.

पिण्डजप्रवरारुढा चण्डकोपास्त्रकैर्युता। प्रसादं तनुते मह्यां चन्द्रघण्टेति विश्रुता॥
