Enhancing Digital Education
Digital literacy is a critical 21st-century skill, and the project aims to equip students with hands-on knowledge of computers and internet-based learning. By establishing well-equipped digital labs, the initiative complements existing MoTA programs such as Digital Tutoring for IIT-JEE and NEET, and the Digital Transformation Program. These measures are designed to enable tribal youth to access modern educational resources and develop innovative problem-solving skills.
Promoting Health and Hygiene
Alongside technology upgrades, the initiative focuses on menstrual health and hygiene for girl students. The installation of 430 sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators aims to improve retention rates, academic performance, and overall well-being of female students, creating a more inclusive learning environment.
About EMRS and Tribal Education
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs established EMRS to provide high-quality education, nutrition, and holistic development for Scheduled Tribe children. With 479 functional EMRS across India, these schools aim to prepare students for higher education and professional opportunities, ultimately empowering them to secure gainful employment.
Recognizing the potential of CSR to complement government funding, MoTA, led by Shri Jual Oram, has been actively engaging companies to invest in tribal education initiatives. The NCL partnership aligns with the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh and the government’s vision of digital inclusion and quality education for tribal youth.
