Shah, Nitish Lead NDA Push for Bihar Poll Victory

RR Team, March 30, 2025June 24, 2025

Amit Shah, Nitish Kumar Unite NDA for Bihar Poll Battle

Key NDA Meeting Held in Patna

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met on Sunday in Patna to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections. The closed-door meeting took place at 1, Anne Marg, the CM’s official residence, and included leaders from all five NDA allies in Bihar. The gathering sent a clear signal of unity ahead of the high-stakes elections, expected in the next six to seven months.

Target: 225 Seats in 2025

At the heart of the discussions was an ambitious target—winning 225 out of 243 seats in the Assembly. The JD(U), led by Nitish Kumar, has launched the slogan “225 seats in 2025, Phir Se Nitish,” highlighting his role as the alliance’s preferred chief ministerial face. However, the BJP has yet to officially name its CM candidate.

All Major NDA Leaders Present

The meeting was attended by top NDA figures, including:

  • Chirag Paswan, LJP (Ram Vilas) president and Union Minister

  • Jitan Ram Manjhi, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) founder and Union Minister

  • Upendra Kushwaha, Rashtriya Lok Morcha president

Their presence reinforced the NDA’s effort to present a unified election front. Leaders discussed strategy, coordination, and seat-sharing arrangements.

Rallies, Inaugurations, and Symbolic Unity

Before the strategy meeting, Amit Shah addressed a BJP rally in Gopalganj. Later, he shared the stage with Nitish Kumar at an official function in Patna. Together, they inaugurated development projects worth ₹8,000 crore. Shah’s warm reception at Nitish’s residence, despite past political tensions, projected an image of renewed camaraderie and cooperation.

Chirag Paswan Stresses Alliance Strength

After the meeting, Chirag Paswan spoke to the media. He stressed that the discussions focused on strengthening the NDA’s campaign plan. He also hinted at ongoing seat-sharing negotiations, saying his party expects a “respectable” share given its strong performance in earlier elections.

A Tense Yet Strategic Election Ahead

The 2025 Bihar polls promise to be a high-stakes contest. While the NDA aims to retain power, it faces challenges from the Mahagathbandhan, led by Tejashwi Yadav. Sunday’s meeting was a significant step in consolidating the NDA’s base and projecting stability and strength.
