Doctors have expressed growing concern over the ongoing delay in the NEET PG 2024 counselling process, urging Union Health Minister JP Nadda to step in. The United Doctors’ Front Association (UDFA) has called for the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to expedite the admissions process. The counselling schedule remains pending, as the issue is currently under review by the Supreme Court. A hearing on a plea seeking transparency in the NEET PG results is expected after Dussehra, further delaying the process.
In a letter addressed to the Health Minister, UDFA stated that the NEET PG exam was held on August 11, 2024, with results declared on August 23. While the MCC initiated registration on September 20, there has been no progress on key elements like the final registration date, information brochure, seat matrix, or counselling schedule. Aspirants are left in a prolonged state of uncertainty, as the MCC website still indicates that updates will be available soon.
The letter highlighted the frustration felt by students and their families, adding, After 45 days since the results and 15 days into registration, the absence of clear information is causing mental and financial stress. This delay threatens the timely start of the academic session and creates further distress among candidates.
UDFA has urged Health Minister Nadda to intervene and direct the concerned authorities to expedite the process. The organization requested immediate action from the NMC and MCC to release the necessary details and timelines for the NEET PG 2024 counselling process.
The first round of NEET PG 2024 Counselling registration began on September 20, 2024. Candidates can register for the process via the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
