Strengthening School Leadership under NEP 2020
The conclave is structured to deepen principals’ understanding of NEP 2020 reforms and their application within EMRSs. It highlights the critical role of school leadership in improving learning outcomes, student well-being, and institutional accountability, particularly for students from socio-economically disadvantaged tribal communities.
Through focused discussions, the programme promotes academic innovation, leadership development, and improved governance systems. Emphasis is placed on creating a supportive residential environment that nurtures both academic excellence and holistic development.
Inauguration and Release of Key Publications
The conclave will be inaugurated by Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, who will attend as the Chief Guest. Shri Durga Das Uikey, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, will grace the occasion as Guest of Honour, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and NESTS.
The event will also witness the formal release of several important publications, including the EMRS Training Resource Material, the 4th EMRS Sports Meet 2025 Report, the 6th Udbhav 2025 Report, and the 2nd EMRS Principals’ Conclave Book. These publications document milestones, best practices, and achievements across academics, sports, and leadership within the EMRS network.
Expert-Led Technical Sessions
A comprehensive series of technical sessions forms the backbone of the conclave. Experts from CBSE, NCERT, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), UNICEF, and NESTS will lead deliberations on critical aspects of EMRS functioning.
Key themes include school safety, CBSE affiliation norms, academic initiatives, financial procedures, and human resource management. Special focus is placed on aligning classroom practices with national academic reforms while ensuring safe and inclusive residential environments.
Focus on Academics, Well-being and Administration
Over the two days, participants will engage in detailed discussions on academic reforms such as CBSE’s two-examination system, effective lesson planning, classroom processes, and strategies to enhance student learning outcomes. Sessions will also address mental health, emotional well-being, language proficiency, and structured support for underprivileged students.
Administrative and HR-related topics include probation clearance, National Pension System (NPS), school performance review mechanisms, and safety protocols. Financial literacy, GeM procurement procedures, infrastructure maintenance, and guidelines for taking over school buildings from construction agencies will also be covered.
Collaborative Learning and Knowledge Sharing
Each technical session includes an open forum, enabling principals to share experiences, highlight challenges, and learn from peer institutions. This collaborative approach encourages problem-solving and promotes the exchange of best practices across the EMRS ecosystem.
By fostering dialogue and peer learning, the conclave strengthens professional networks among school leaders and helps standardise quality benchmarks across EMRSs nationwide.
Advancing Tribal Transformation Through Education
The conclave underscores NESTS’ ongoing commitment to the vision of “Tribal Transformation Through Education.” By empowering principals with actionable strategies in leadership, governance, and resource management, the initiative aims to create nurturing learning environments that enable tribal students to realise their full potential.
