NFSU & CFSL Launched in Raipur: Forensic Pu

RR Team, June 23, 2025June 23, 2025

Foundation Laid for Modern Justice

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, laid the foundation stone of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He also virtually inaugurated the temporary campus of NFSU Raipur. The new campuses are expected to revolutionize forensic education and justice delivery in central India. With a combined investment of ₹268 crore—₹145 crore for NFSU and ₹123 crore for CFSL—this initiative will create a hub for forensic excellence in New Raipur.

i-Hub to Ignite Startup Dreams

On the same occasion, Shri Shah also launched the i-Hub initiative in Chhattisgarh. The i-Hub aims to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit among youth by offering end-to-end startup support—from technology and marketing to funding and legal contracts.

He emphasized that this would act as a bridge to transform students into MSME entrepreneurs, accelerating the state’s journey toward an industrial revolution.

Jobs and Justice: NFSU’s Role

The Union Home Minister highlighted that graduating from NFSU means near-certain employment. The institution will play a crucial role in education and job creation across the state.

With the Modi government’s plan to expand NFSU to 26 locations nationwide, India will soon train over 32,000 forensic experts annually, building the backbone of a scientific justice system.

Modern Criminal Laws Take Center Stage

Shri Shah lauded Chhattisgarh’s efforts in implementing the three new criminal laws that focus on evidence-based, fast-track justice. Under the new legal framework, forensic investigation is mandatory for crimes punishable with over 7 years in prison.

He noted that India is moving toward the world’s most modern and scientific criminal justice system. The goal is to deliver justice from FIR to Supreme Court judgement within three years.

India’s Forensic Leap: A $55 Billion Market

According to Amit Shah, the global forensic tech market, worth $20 billion today, is projected to reach $55 billion by 2036. India, with its growing expertise, is poised to capture a 9% share in this sector.

Chhattisgarh’s Dual Celebration

This year, Chhattisgarh marks both its 25th Foundation Year and the centenary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. As part of Atal Nirman Varsh, the state aims to become a model of development, with New Raipur envisioned as a modern, green capital.
