NFSU & i-Hub Launched in Raipur to Boost Justice and Startups
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, laid the foundation stone of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He also inaugurated NFSU Raipur’s temporary campus via video conferencing. These moves aim to transform central India’s criminal justice system.
Strengthening Justice Through Forensic Science
The government allocated ₹145 crore for NFSU and ₹123 crore for CFSL, totaling ₹268 crore. These institutions will turn Raipur into a hub for scientific crime investigation. Amit Shah highlighted that forensic science plays a vital role in improving conviction rates nationwide.
With the new criminal laws, forensic visits are now mandatory in all serious crimes. Consequently, courts will resolve such cases—from FIR to Supreme Court verdict—within three years. This change ensures a faster and fairer justice process.
NFSU’s National Expansion Strategy
NFSU is growing at a rapid pace. It currently operates 7 campuses, has 9 more approved, and plans to open 10 additional sites. The university will soon operate across 26 key locations in India.
This growth will enable the country to train over 32,000 forensic experts annually. It aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision 2047, which seeks to modernize India’s infrastructure and justice systems. Notably, the global forensic tech market is expected to rise from $20 billion to $55 billion by 2036, and India aims to secure 9% of that share.
i-Hub: Fueling Youth Startups in Chhattisgarh
During the same event, Amit Shah introduced i-Hub, a new platform to support startups and young innovators. The platform will help entrepreneurs with tech guidance, marketing support, legal aid, and access to funding.
This initiative will boost youth participation in MSMEs and foster innovation. Shah said Chhattisgarh’s youth will play a central role in the state’s upcoming industrial transformation.
Advancing Education and Employment
Amit Shah assured that graduating from NFSU leads to guaranteed employment. This promise will strengthen the region’s educational ecosystem and reduce unemployment among skilled youth. The Raipur campuses will develop professionals ready for India’s modern justice system.
Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee and Future Vision
This year, Chhattisgarh celebrates its 25th foundation anniversary, known as Atal Nirman Varsh, honoring former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who envisioned the state. Shah credited PM Modi for continuing the state’s progress.
With institutions like NFSU and platforms like i-Hub, New Raipur is on its way to becoming one of the country’s most advanced and eco-friendly capitals.
