“NIELIT Forges New Alliances to Strengthen Digital India Vision Through Innovation and Skilling”

In a significant step toward strengthening the Digital India mission, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with eight visionary organizations. The signing ceremony, held on 25th April 2025 at Electronics Niketan, New Delhi, was a moment of pride and hope for India’s digital future, graced by the presence of Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

The organizations entering into this important partnership with NIELIT include the Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL), ERNET India, National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Heartfulness Institute, Kyndryl India, Skyroot Aerospace, and the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR). These collaborations are set to breathe new life into the digital ecosystem, opening doors for greater innovation, enhanced skilling, and groundbreaking research in emerging technologies.

 

The spirit behind these MoUs goes far beyond formal agreements. It symbolizes a collective commitment to building a future-ready India where technology serves every citizen. Through joint research projects, curriculum development, skilling programs, and training initiatives, the partnerships aim to bridge the gap between the rapidly evolving demands of the industry and the aspirations of the nation’s youth.

 

Reflecting the optimism of the occasion, Shri S. Krishnan emphasized the importance of such collaborative efforts. He pointed out that the synergy between academia, industry, and government institutions is essential for fostering a strong digital ecosystem and nurturing a knowledge-driven economy. His heartfelt appreciation for the leadership of Dr. M. M. Tripathi, Director General of NIELIT, and his team highlighted the relentless dedication behind this initiative, aimed at providing practical, high-quality education and skilling opportunities for all.

 

The ceremony was attended by several distinguished dignitaries who have been instrumental in shaping the landscape of electronics, IT, and emerging technologies in India. Among them were Ms. Preeti Nath, Economic Adviser at MeitY; Dr. Kamaljeet Singh, Director General of SCL; Shri Sanjeev Bansal, Director General of ERNET India; Ms. Girija Mukund, Director of CSR and ESG at Kyndryl India; Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan, Dean and Director at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham; Dr. C. V. S Kiran, Vice President at Skyroot Aerospace; Dr. Mohammad Rihan, Director General of NISE; and Dr. Narsi Reddy, Director of Heartfulness Institute.

 

NIELIT’s unwavering efforts over the years have built a strong foundation for digital literacy and technical education across the country. With 56 own centers, over 700 Accredited Training Partners, and a network of more than 9,000 facilitation centers, NIELIT continues to empower countless individuals, particularly from remote and underserved areas. Recognized as a National Examination Body, NIELIT’s impact on developing skilled manpower for India’s digital economy remains unparalleled.
