Nitin Gadkari Inspects 6-Lane Shamlaji–Motachiloda NH-48 in Gujarat

Gujarat: Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and senior officials, today conducted a detailed inspection of the under-construction 6-lane Shamlaji–Motachiloda section of National Highway 48. The visit aimed to review progress and ensure timely completion of critical highway infrastructure.

Inspection Highlights and Key Structures

During the site visit, Shri Gadkari reviewed essential structures including the Motipura Flyover near Himmatnagar at Ch. 492 and the Vehicle Underpass (VUP) at Ch. 524 near Majra. He directed officials to expedite construction of the remaining flyovers, underpasses, and concrete service roads while ensuring the installation of proper drainage systems.

Focus on Road Safety and Accountability

Shri Gadkari emphasised strict action against agencies responsible for delays or lapses in construction quality. He stressed that road safety measures, high-quality pavement, and smooth riding experience must be ensured for commuters along the NH-48 corridor.

Commitment to Timely Completion

The Union Minister highlighted the strategic importance of the Shamlaji–Motachiloda highway stretch in enhancing regional connectivity and reducing travel time. Officials were instructed to adhere to project timelines while maintaining international quality standards in highway construction.
