Nitin Gadkari Launches Revamped RAJMARG PRAVESH Portal

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, on Tuesday launched the upgraded RAJMARG PRAVESH portal, aiming to streamline and digitise the process of obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for access and utility works along National Highways. The revamped platform is designed to ensure faster approvals, improved transparency, and greater ease of doing business.

Single-Window Digital Platform

The RAJMARG PRAVESH portal provides a single-window system for individuals, businesses, and government agencies seeking permissions related to National Highway access. Through this platform, applicants can apply online for NOCs required for fuel stations, rest areas, private properties, connecting roads, and other roadside amenities.

The portal also facilitates approvals for laying essential utilities such as water pipelines, gas pipelines, optical fibre cables, and electrical lines along or across National Highways. By digitising these processes, the Ministry aims to eliminate procedural delays and reduce paperwork.

Boost to Ease of Doing Business

Speaking at the launch, the Minister emphasised that the revamped RAJMARG PRAVESH portal reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing transparency and efficiency in infrastructure governance. The online system ensures that applications are processed in a time-bound and accountable manner.

The initiative aligns with broader reforms introduced by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to promote investment and simplify regulatory frameworks.

Transparent and Time-Bound Approvals

The upgraded system introduces structured workflows and digital tracking mechanisms. Applicants can monitor the status of their submissions in real time, ensuring clarity at every stage of the approval process.

By standardising procedures across states and agencies, the portal is expected to reduce ambiguity and accelerate project execution along National Highways. This is particularly significant as India continues to expand its highway network under ambitious infrastructure development programmes.

Supporting Infrastructure Expansion

The Ministry has been actively modernising its digital systems to match the rapid growth in highway construction and connectivity projects. With increasing demand for fuel stations, logistics parks, and roadside amenities, a simplified approval system is crucial for maintaining development momentum.

The portal is expected to benefit entrepreneurs, infrastructure developers, and utility providers by significantly cutting down approval timelines. It also strengthens regulatory oversight while ensuring public convenience.

Senior Officials Present

The launch event was attended by senior officials of the Ministry, including Secretary (RTH) V Umashankar, DG (RD) & Special Secretary Vinay Kumar Rajawat, Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India Santosh Kumar Yadav, Managing Director of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited Krishan Kumar, and Member (Admin) NHAI Vishal Chauhan.

The presence of top officials underscored the importance of digital transformation within the highway sector. The RAJMARG PRAVESH portal is seen as a key reform measure that complements India’s broader push towards digital governance.

Driving Efficiency in Highway Management

As India’s National Highway network continues to expand, efficient access management and utility coordination are critical. The revamped RAJMARG PRAVESH portal is expected to play a vital role in balancing infrastructure growth with regulatory compliance.

By integrating technology with governance, the Ministry aims to create a transparent and citizen-friendly system that supports economic growth while ensuring orderly development along National Highways.
