Incident Outside Medical College Campus

According to the police, the second-year medical student, who hails from Jaleswar in Odisha, had stepped out of her private medical college campus in Durgapur around 8:30 p.m. on October 10 for dinner with a friend. Her family alleged that she was attacked and sexually assaulted later that night by three unidentified men outside the campus area.
The accused allegedly snatched her mobile phone and took her to a nearby forested area, where the assault reportedly occurred. Police said the victim was threatened with severe consequences if she reported the crime. The student is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
