Om Birla to Address IAS Trainees at LBSNAA Mussoorie
Mussoorie, Uttarakhand | June 11, 2025:
Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla will visit the picturesque town of Mussoorie tomorrow, June 12, 2025, to address officers attending the 127th Induction Training Programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). This prestigious academy is the premier training institution for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.
The Speaker will arrive at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun at 9:45 AM and is scheduled to reach Mussoorie by 11:30 AM. His visit will be brief yet impactful, with a scheduled return to New Delhi later the same day.
Strengthening India’s Administrative Backbone
This particular training programme at LBSNAA is crafted exclusively for 97 officers promoted from State Civil Services to IAS. Representing 19 different Indian states, the cohort includes 73 male and 24 female officers.
These officers are not just moving up in their careers — they are stepping into a broader, national role. The transition from state governance to all-India administrative responsibilities is both challenging and crucial. The 127th Induction Training Programme helps ease this transition.
Viksit Bharat @2047: A Vision in Action
The theme of this programme aligns closely with the government’s national developmental framework — Viksit Bharat @2047. This forward-looking vision aims to transform India into a fully developed nation by its 100th year of independence.
Adding to this transformative agenda is the Mission Karmayogi, a flagship initiative designed to reshape bureaucratic efficiency, enhance ethical values, and empower public servants with futuristic thinking and digital skills.
By addressing the officers, Shri Om Birla will reinforce the importance of ethical leadership, policy foresight, and citizen-centric governance — cornerstones of India’s democratic architecture.
Focus Areas of the Training
The training at LBSNAA isn’t just about classroom lectures. It is built on seven thematic pillars:
1. Good Governance – Promoting transparency and accountability.
2. Personality Development – Enhancing leadership and soft skills.
3. Collaborative Learning – Encouraging teamwork and inter-state cooperation.
4. Technology Integration – Leveraging AI and data for governance.
5. Leadership Insights – Learning from policymakers and experts.
6. Entrepreneurial Thinking – Fostering innovation in public services.
7. Regional Understanding – Deepening insights into India’s diverse socio-cultural fabric.
These themes aim to mold the officers into well-rounded civil servants ready for high-impact roles.
A Model for Future Leadership
With India poised to become a global leader in the coming decades, the role of administrators becomes more critical than ever. Programmes like these, with their immersive design and high-level mentorship, prepare civil servants to meet future governance challenges effectively.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s address is expected to motivate the officers to embrace responsibility, think innovatively, and stay rooted in India’s democratic ethos.
