
Demonstration of Military Readiness

“Our pilots demonstrated only a demo of India’s power. If given the opportunity, they will display the full strength of our Armed Forces,” Shri Rajnath Singh stated. He stressed that adversaries are never inactive, and the Indian military must remain vigilant, prepared to respond effectively to any threats.
The Defence Minister underscored the critical role of the Armed Forces in supporting Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed and self-reliant India by 2047. “Our soldiers are both protectors of the borders and pioneers of nation-building,” he added.
Focus on Border Development and Preparedness
Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted ongoing government initiatives to strengthen border infrastructure and enhance defence preparedness. He reiterated that development activities along the borders are being carried out with a strategic vision, ensuring that India remains secure and self-reliant.
Barakhana: Unity in Diversity
The Raksha Mantri praised Barakhana as a symbol of India’s culture and values, emphasizing equality and diversity within the Armed Forces. Soldiers from different religions, castes, languages, and regions dine together, reflecting unity through a shared meal.
Inauguration of Shauryavan and War Memorial Visit
Before the Barakhana, Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated ‘Shauryavan’, a unique Cacti-cum-Botanical Garden in Jaisalmer. The project transforms the Thar Desert into a vibrant oasis, symbolizing resilience, ecological preservation, and innovation.
He also paid tribute at the Jaisalmer War Memorial under the ‘Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan’ initiative. Shri Rajnath Singh viewed an extensive collection of war trophies and artifacts and witnessed the inaugural Holographic Light & Sound Show, enhancing the Memorial’s educational and commemorative experience.
High-Level Military Presence
The occasion was attended by Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, all Army Commanders, and other senior officers.
On October 24, the Raksha Mantri is scheduled to visit forward areas to witness a ‘Capability Demonstration Exercise’ by Southern Command and address the Army Commanders’ Conference in Jaisalmer, further strengthening strategic military planning.
