From the majestic Himalayas to the southern shores of Kanyakumari, over 1,000 organizations have come together to participate in what promises to be the largest wellness celebration in India’s history. Under the banner of the Yoga Sangam initiative, these diverse groups—ranging from schools, colleges, corporates, and NGOs to Resident Welfare Associations, government departments, and grassroots community bodies—have registered to take part in the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21, 2025.
The enthusiasm spans all 28 States and 7 Union Territories, reflecting a nationwide embrace of yoga as a path to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Participants will follow the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), ensuring unity in practice as millions across the country synchronize their breath and movement in celebration.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the United Nations officially recognizing International Day of Yoga, a milestone that honors the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The theme for 2025, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” highlights the vital connection between personal wellness and the health of our planet—a message that resonates deeply in today’s world.
On June 21, more than 100,000 locations—from serene mountain retreats to urban parks, school grounds, and corporate offices—are expected to come alive with yoga sessions, bringing communities together in a powerful display of harmony and wellness.
The Ministry of Ayush encourages citizens and organizations to join this historic movement by registering on the Yoga Sangam portal. Those who host local yoga events will receive official recognition, becoming leaders in fostering health and unity within their communities.
This growing wave of participation is not just about an event, but a heartfelt movement that carries India’s ancient gift of yoga far and wide, inspiring millions to nurture their well-being and the planet’s health in unison.
