Panchayati Raj to Showcase AI at India AI Expo

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is set to showcase a suite of Artificial Intelligence-powered grassroots governance solutions at the India AI Impact Expo 2026, to be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16 to 20.
At Hall 5, Booth 5F5 and 5F9, the Ministry will present digital innovations designed to enhance transparency, administrative efficiency and citizen-centric service delivery in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).

AI Tools for Grassroots Governance

Among the key highlights is SabhaSaar, an AI-powered platform that records, transcribes and summarises Gram Sabha and official meetings into structured Minutes of Meeting. The tool aims to improve documentation accuracy and ensure accountability in local decision-making processes.

Another solution, PRAMAN (Panchayati Raj Asset Monitoring and Notification), leverages image analytics to validate uploaded asset photographs. It performs quality checks, authenticity verification and duplication detection, thereby strengthening monitoring mechanisms for development projects.

The Ministry will also showcase eGramSaathi, an AI chatbot designed to assist Panchayat officials and citizens by providing guidance on governance procedures, schemes and service-related queries. The chatbot seeks to simplify access to information and reduce delays in administrative responses.

Interactive and Immersive Experience

The exhibition booth has been conceptualised as an experiential space, offering live demonstrations and guided walkthroughs of AI platforms. Visitors will be able to witness real-time simulations that illustrate how AI simplifies complex administrative processes.

A unique attraction will be the ‘Be the Sarpanch’ role-based interactive simulation. Through a traditional Nukkad Natak-inspired format, participants will experience how AI-enabled tools assist in documenting decisions and maintaining records in local governance settings.

Promoting Responsible AI Adoption

The Ministry’s participation in the India AI Impact Expo underscores its commitment to leveraging emerging technologies responsibly in public administration. The showcase aims to contribute to broader policy discussions on ethical and impactful AI deployment in governance systems.

By presenting scalable digital solutions tailored for Panchayats and local administrations, the Ministry seeks to demonstrate how AI can act as an enabler of efficient governance while preserving transparency and citizen trust.

Strengthening Digital India at the Grassroots

With over 2.5 lakh Panchayats across the country, strengthening grassroots governance remains central to India’s development agenda. The integration of AI into routine administrative processes represents a significant step towards data-driven and citizen-focused governance.

Through its presence at the India AI Impact Expo 2026, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj aims to highlight how innovative technologies can bridge governance gaps, enhance efficiency and empower local institutions to deliver better public services.
