The trial run will cover a 2.9km elevated stretch connecting the new stations to the existing section of Corridor II (Blue Line). Upon successful completion and safety clearance, regular passenger operations will commence. Officials confirmed that all civil, electrical, signaling, and engineering works at both stations are complete.
Safety Checks Completed
Recent inspections mark significant milestones: the final fire safety inspection at Malahi Pakri Metro Station was completed on February 18, while the electrical inspection led by Anand Kumar concluded on February 14. These clearances ensure that both stations meet technical and safety standards for public use.
Priority Corridor Overview
The Blue Line priority corridor spans a total elevated length of 6.6km from Malahi Pakri to Patliputra Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT). Currently, three stations ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhootnath serve a 3.6km section operational since October 2025. With the addition of Malahi Pakri and Khemnichak, commuters can expect reduced travel times along key routes including Bypass Road and Kankerbagh.
During the trial, engineers will thoroughly examine signaling systems, electrification, track safety, and other critical infrastructure. Public operations are expected to begin in the first week of March 2026, following Holi celebrations on March 4.
Passenger Facilities and Parking
Malahi Pakri station will feature dedicated parking facilities for passenger vehicles. Encroachments on the land behind the station have been cleared to develop adequate parking space, enhancing convenience for commuters.
Future Corridor II Plans
Corridor II extends approximately 14.5km and includes 12 stations—five elevated and seven underground. The elevated section connects ISBT to Malahi Pakri, while the 7.3km underground stretch linking Patna Junction, Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University, Moin-ul-Haq Stadium, and Rajendra Nagar is expected to be completed by late 2026.
