PM-Kisan 20th Installment to be Released on Aug 2

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called on farmers to join the live event on August 2, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 20th installment of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi from Varanasi.

Direct Benefit Transfer for Farmers

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) is one of India’s most impactful welfare schemes. It provides ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments to eligible farmers. The 20th installment of the scheme is scheduled to be released on August 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will personally initiate the fund transfer and also address farmers nationwide. The event will be broadcast live across India at multiple locations.

Minister Chouhan’s Heartfelt Message to Farmers

In a video message released on July 30, Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed the farming community with warmth and respect. He congratulated farmers for their hard work during the Kharif season and shared a hopeful outlook for a good harvest.

“Dear farmer brothers and sisters, the Kharif crop season looks promising. Prime Minister Modi will transfer the PM-Kisan amount directly into your accounts on August 2 at 11 AM. I urge you to join the programme near you and listen to his address.”

Shri Chouhan emphasized the importance of unity and active participation, encouraging farmers to find the nearest event location and attend the programme in large numbers.

Where Will Events Be Held?

Farmers can join the event at various locations nationwide, including:

All these venues will livestream PM Modi’s address and facilitate information sharing about government schemes.

PM-Kisan: A Lifeline for Small Farmers

Launched in 2019, the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme has become a vital support system for India’s small and marginal farmers. Over ₹2.5 lakh crore has been transferred to more than 11 crore farmers to date, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

The scheme’s direct benefit transfer (DBT) ensures that farmers receive the funds without middlemen, reducing delays and corruption. This installment continues that transparent approach.

Farmers Encouraged to Stay Informed

Shri Chouhan also stressed the importance of staying updated on government schemes. Events like this give farmers a chance to interact with officials, clarify doubts, and learn about new agricultural policies.

“Please find out where the nearest programme is being held and make sure to attend,” he said. He added that he too would be present during the event and hoped to see strong participation from every village.

A Moment of Unity and Celebration

The event on August 2 is not just about receiving money. It’s about recognition. It’s about farmers being heard and seen by the highest office in the country.

When the Prime Minister speaks directly to farmers, it reinforces trust and gives confidence that their work matters. It shows the government’s commitment to the backbone of India—its farmers.

How to Check PM-Kisan Installment Status

Farmers can check the status of their PM-Kisan installment by visiting the official portal: pmkisan.gov.in. They will need their Aadhaar number or mobile number linked to the scheme.

Farmers facing issues can also reach out to their nearest KVK or PACS centre during the August 2 event for help with verification or registration.

Final Appeal from the Union Minister

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan concluded his message with a strong appeal to all farmer families to treat August 2 as a celebration of their hard work. “Please attend the programme near you and listen to the Prime Minister’s address. I will be there too,” he affirmed.

This call is not just a reminder. It’s an invitation to be part of a larger movement—one that values and uplifts India’s farmers.
