PM Modi Backs Welfare-Driven Growth for All Citizens

PM Modi Reaffirms India’s Path Towards Welfare-Driven Development

New Delhi, June 11, 2025:

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi once again underscored his government’s core mission: inclusive, welfare-driven development. His reaffirmation came in response to a social media post by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, highlighting the success and reach of key government welfare schemes.

PM Modi responded on platform X (formerly Twitter), stating:

“This is a commendable rise, indicating our commitment towards welfare-driven development and ensuring our various pro-people schemes reach maximum number of people.”

Making Development People-Centric

This public message, although brief, speaks volumes about the development philosophy guiding India’s governance. For the Modi government, the focus has always been on “Antyodaya” – uplifting the last person in the queue. The government’s policies aim to reach the most underserved communities with efficiency and dignity.

Over the years, flagship schemes such as:

PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) for affordable housing,

Ayushman Bharat for universal health coverage,

PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for food security, and

Jan Dhan Yojana for financial inclusion

have collectively empowered millions of Indian households. These schemes bridge urban-rural divides and promote equity-driven progress.

The Power of Scale and Reach

Union Minister Dr. Mandaviya’s post emphasized the remarkable increase in outreach of these schemes. Whether it’s healthcare, sanitation, food supply, or financial access, each scheme is now reaching deeper into India’s heartlands. The use of Digital India infrastructure, such as Aadhaar and DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), has drastically improved transparency and minimized leakages.

For instance, according to official data, more than 11 crore toilets have been built under the Swachh Bharat Mission, drastically improving sanitation and public health. Similarly, over 50 crore beneficiaries have been enrolled under Ayushman Bharat.

A Welfare Model Rooted in Vision 2047

India’s welfare-driven approach isn’t just a reaction to immediate needs; it is a strategic component of the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. As India marches towards its 100th year of independence, the goal is to build a nation that is not only economically strong but also socially just and inclusive.

Schemes like Skill India, Start-Up India, and Digital India are not just welfare programs but tools for transformational change. They aim to convert beneficiaries into contributors, building a self-reliant India rooted in dignity and opportunity.

Digital Engagement and Leadership Messaging

The Prime Minister’s direct interaction on X also reflects how governance in India has become more transparent and digitally connected. Leaders now directly engage with citizens and ministers in real-time, shaping a more responsive and accountable government.

Shri Modi’s consistent messaging reaffirms public confidence and strengthens collective ownership of India’s development journey.
