PM Modi Condemns Bondi Beach Terror Attack l

RR Team, December 14, 2025December 14, 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday strongly condemned the terrorist attack at Australia’s Bondi Beach that targeted people celebrating the first day of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and reaffirmed India’s unwavering stand against terrorism in all its forms. The attack, described as “ghastly” by the Prime Minister, has sent shockwaves across the international community. Bondi Beach, one of Australia’s most iconic and crowded public spaces, was witnessing festive celebrations when the incident occurred, turning a moment of joy into one of grief and horror.

India Stands in Solidarity with Australia

Conveying India’s solidarity with Australia, Prime Minister Modi said that the people of India stand shoulder to shoulder with Australians during this difficult time. He emphasized that terrorism is a global menace that threatens peace, harmony, and human values across nations and cultures.

“On behalf of the people of India, I extend my sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. We stand in solidarity with the people of Australia in this hour of grief,” the Prime Minister said in an official statement.

Zero Tolerance Towards Terrorism

Reiterating India’s long-standing position, the Prime Minister underlined that India follows a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. He stressed that the global community must remain united in its resolve to combat terrorism and prevent the spread of extremist ideologies.

India, which has itself been a victim of cross-border terrorism, has consistently advocated for stronger international cooperation, intelligence sharing, and decisive action against terror networks. The Prime Minister’s remarks once again highlighted India’s commitment to the global fight against terrorism.

Message Shared on Social Media

Prime Minister Modi also took to social media platform X to express his condemnation of the attack. In his post, he described the incident as a brutal act of terror and extended condolences to the victims’ families while reaffirming India’s support for Australia.

His message received widespread attention, with global leaders, diplomats, and citizens echoing the call for unity against terrorism. The post underscored the importance of standing together in the face of violence aimed at disrupting social harmony.

Global Condemnation and Call for Unity

The attack has drawn condemnation from leaders across the world, reinforcing the shared understanding that terrorism knows no borders and must be confronted collectively. Acts of violence targeting civilians and religious celebrations strike at the core of democratic values and peaceful coexistence.

Observers note that such incidents highlight the need for sustained vigilance, strong law enforcement cooperation, and community engagement to counter radicalization and ensure public safety in open and diverse societies.

India–Australia Strategic Partnership

India and Australia share a strong strategic partnership built on shared democratic values, people-to-people ties, and cooperation in areas such as security, trade, and education. The Prime Minister’s message of solidarity reflects the depth of this relationship and mutual support during times of crisis.

Over the years, both countries have worked closely on counter-terrorism initiatives and regional security, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. India’s support following the Bondi Beach attack reinforces this partnership and the shared commitment to peace and stability.

As investigations continue in Australia, India’s message remains clear and resolute: terrorism in any form is unacceptable, and the world must respond with unity, compassion for victims, and firm action against those responsible.
