Condemning Attacks and Upholding Sovereignty
PM Modi expressed deep concern over the attacks in Doha and strongly condemned the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty. He acknowledged Qatar’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region, including its active mediation in Gaza to secure ceasefire agreements and the release of hostages.
The Prime Minister emphasized India’s firm stance against terrorism in all forms and underlined the importance of resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy, cautioning against any escalation.
India-Qatar Strategic Partnership
Sheikh Tamim thanked PM Modi for expressing solidarity with the people and government of Qatar. Both leaders highlighted the sustained progress in the India-Qatar Strategic Partnership and reiterated their commitment to further expand bilateral cooperation across all areas of mutual interest, including energy, trade, and investment.
They agreed to maintain close contact to ensure continued collaboration and joint efforts towards regional peace.
Regional Peace and Stability
During the conversation, PM Modi appreciated Qatar’s mediation efforts in Gaza, which are aimed at achieving a ceasefire and ensuring humanitarian relief. India continues to support initiatives that strengthen peace and stability in the Middle East while opposing all acts of terrorism.
Both leaders underscored the importance of diplomacy and dialogue as tools for conflict resolution and avoiding any further escalation of tensions in the region.
