Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared reflections from his visit to Chhattisgarh, emphasizing tribal pride, the state’s journey of development, and initiatives for people’s welfare. The Prime Minister attended the state’s Silver Jubilee celebrations in Nava Raipur and inaugurated several projects dedicated to the tribal freedom movement and the vision of an empowered Chhattisgarh.

Tribute to Tribal Heroes and Freedom Fighters

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, dedicated to the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of Chhattisgarh’s tribal communities. He also unveiled the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and statue, honoring the legendary freedom fighter who played a pivotal role in the 1857 uprising.

In his message on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote in Hindi, “Today, the Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum, dedicated to the indomitable courage, sacrifice and patriotism of the tribal communities of Chhattisgarh, was inaugurated in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.”  He added that the new memorial will inspire future generations to remember the contributions of tribal communities to India’s freedom struggle.

Showcasing 25 Years of Progress

PM Modi expressed joy after witnessing an exhibition depicting 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s development journey during the state’s Silver Jubilee celebrations. The exhibition, held at Nava Raipur, showcased the transformation of the state since its formation in 2000 under the vision of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

He said, “छत्तीसगढ़ की स्थापना के रजत महोत्सव में मुझे आशीर्वाद देने आए राज्य के मेरे परिवारजनों का कोटि-कोटि अभिनंदन! जय जोहार!” Modi described how Atal Ji’s dream had grown into a strong tree of development, symbolizing the achievements and aspirations of Chhattisgarh’s people over the past 25 years.

Empowering the Poor Through Welfare

Highlighting the success of welfare schemes, the Prime Minister said he was deeply satisfied to meet beneficiaries who had received pucca houses under government housing schemes. He noted the happiness on their faces as they received keys to their new homes, calling it a symbol of dignity and empowerment. “Many congratulations to my family members from the state who came to bless me on the silver jubilee of Chhattisgarh’s establishment! Jai Johar!” he wrote.

Overcoming Maoist Challenges

PM Modi also reflected on India’s decade-long effort to eliminate Naxal-Maoist terrorism from affected regions, including parts of Chhattisgarh. He emphasized that areas once considered strongholds of extremism are now witnessing peace and development.

“Eleven years ago, we had resolved to liberate Chhattisgarh and the entire India from Naxalism-Maoist terror, the results of which the entire country is seeing today,” the Prime Minister said, adding that this transformation stands as proof of the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and national unity.

Connecting Heritage, Development, and Future

PM Modi’s visit to Chhattisgarh marked a convergence of the state’s cultural heritage and its developmental aspirations. Through the inauguration of memorials, interaction with citizens, and participation in state celebrations, he underscored the importance of honoring tribal traditions while embracing modern progress.

The Prime Minister’s remarks encapsulated a vision where the pride of indigenous communities blends seamlessly with the spirit of nation-building. His visit reinforced Chhattisgarh’s place in India’s journey toward inclusive, sustainable development.
