PM Modi Hoists Dharm Dhvaja at Ayodhya Ram Temple

RR Team, November 25, 2025November 26, 2025
Ayodhya witnessed a historic and emotionally charged moment on Tuesday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremonially hoisted a saffron flag atop the newly constructed Ram Temple. The Dhwajarohan ceremony, performed during the auspicious Abhijit Muhurat, marked the formal completion of the temple’s construction  a milestone awaited for centuries by devotees across India and abroad.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The event drew thousands of devotees who flocked to the temple town from the early hours of the morning, chanting “Jai Shri Ram” as they filled the streets with devotional fervour.

A Flag Rich in Symbolism

The saffron flag, measuring 10 feet in height and 20 feet in length, features sacred emblems including the radiant Sun, the symbol ‘Om’, and the revered Kovidara tree. According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, these symbols reflect purity, spiritual power, and the eternal dharma associated with Lord Ram.

Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Trust, confirmed that the ceremony signified the formal completion of all major structural work. He highlighted that saffron  symbolising sacrifice, energy and the rising sun  represents the values that guided the construction journey of the temple.

A City Immersed in Devotion

As news of the Prime Minister’s visit spread, Ayodhya was transformed into a vibrant spiritual landscape. Priests have been conducting special rituals over the past four days leading up to the ceremony. Visiting seers described the moment as a fulfilment of historic proportions, with many devotees saying they felt fortunate to witness an event their ancestors had only dreamt of.

An elderly pilgrim, who arrived hours before the ceremony, expressed deep emotion: “This day has come after 500 years. Our ancestors waited and sacrificed for this moment. We are blessed to be here.” Similar sentiments reverberated throughout the crowd, as people from diverse regions joined in collective celebration.

Security Blankets the Temple Town

Given the scale and significance of the event, the Uttar Pradesh administration deployed an extensive security apparatus across the city. According to officials, 6,970 personnel — including Anti-Terror Squad commandos, NSG snipers, cyber experts, and technical surveillance teams — were stationed throughout Ayodhya.

Advanced anti-drone systems, emergency response units, bomb squads, and VVIP protection teams monitored all key areas. Rigorous checks were conducted at each entry point into the temple town, ensuring both safety and smooth movement of devotees.

PM Modi’s Temple Visit Agenda

During his visit, the Prime Minister offered prayers at the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah and the Ram Lalla sanctum. He also visited the Saptmandir, Sheshavtar Mandir, and the Mata Annapurna Temple inside the expansive complex. The outer walls of the shrine showcase 87 carved stone episodes from the Valmiki Ramayana, while 79 bronze-cast cultural depictions enhance the enclosure walls.

A temple official said that depending on the day’s schedule, darshan for the general public may resume by Tuesday evening, or will reopen on Wednesday morning at the latest.

Massive Preparations Reviewed by CM Yogi Adityanath

A day before the ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an on-site review of all arrangements, issuing directives to ensure seamless management of crowd flow, security, and ritual logistics.

The event marks another significant chapter in Ayodhya’s transformation into a major spiritual and cultural hub. As the saffron flag fluttered atop the temple spire, the city rejoiced in a moment symbolizing both historical closure and a new beginning.
