₹1 Lakh Crore Jobs Scheme for Youth
The Prime Minister launched the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana, targeting the creation of 3.5 crore private-sector jobs. Under the scheme, first-time employees in private companies will receive a one-time government incentive of ₹15,000. Companies expanding their workforce will also be rewarded with financial benefits, encouraging large-scale hiring.
GST Reforms by Diwali
Modi announced “Next Generation GST Reforms” to be rolled out by Diwali 2025. These reforms aim to simplify tax structures, improve compliance, and lower taxes on daily-use items, reducing household expenses. Calling it a “Diwali gift” to citizens, he assured the changes would make transactions easier for businesses and consumers alike.
Mission Sudarshan Chakra: Strengthening Defence
In a major security announcement, the Prime Minister unveiled Mission Sudarshan Chakra, an advanced weapons system designed to neutralise enemy threats and provide a robust national defence shield by 2035. Inspired by Lord Krishna’s legendary weapon, the system will offer both defensive and offensive capabilities. Modi also highlighted the success of Operation Sindoor against terrorism and reiterated India’s stand against nuclear blackmail.
Empowering Farmers and Women
Reaffirming his commitment to the farming community, PM Modi vowed to oppose any policy that harms their interests. He praised India’s agricultural progress and celebrated the success of the Lakhpati Didi programme, which has empowered two crore women to achieve substantial financial independence.
Technology and Self-Reliance
Modi acknowledged past missed opportunities in semiconductor manufacturing but assured that India is now working in “mission mode” to produce homegrown chips, with Made-in-India semiconductor products expected by the end of 2025. He also called for domestic production of solar panels, electric vehicle components, fertilisers, and jet engines. Over 300 space startups are contributing to India’s goal of building its own space station.
Energy and Environment Milestone
India has already achieved its 2030 target of generating 50% of energy from clean sources in 2025. The government will continue investing in solar, hydrogen, and nuclear energy projects to maintain this momentum.
Unity, Health, and Social Cohesion
Calling on citizens to embrace linguistic diversity and national unity, Modi urged people to adopt healthier lifestyles to combat rising obesity rates. He stressed that collective action is vital for building a strong and healthy nation.
President Murmu’s Independence Day Eve Address
On the eve of Independence Day, President Droupadi Murmu praised India’s 6.5% GDP growth, resilient economy, and rapid infrastructure development. She reiterated the nation’s goal to become a developed country by 2047 and commended the decisive measures taken against terrorism, including Operation Sindoor.
