PM Modi Launches 3 New Vande Bharat Trains on August 10

RR Team, August 7, 2025August 7, 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off three new Vande Bharat Express trains. These high-speed trains will connect key cities, bringing more comfort and convenience to rail passengers across India.

With this launch, the total number of Vande Bharat trains in the country will rise to 150, strengthening India’s semi-high-speed rail network.

1. Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune Vande Bharat Express

This much-anticipated train will run between Ajni in Nagpur and Hadapsar in Pune. The total distance of over 850 km is expected to be covered in under 12 hours.

Initially, the train will operate three days a week. It will offer seating-only coaches, ensuring a faster, more convenient journey for passengers across Maharashtra.

Full schedule, train numbers, and stoppages will be available in the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) two days before launch, according to officials from Indian Railways.

2. Bengaluru to Belagavi Vande Bharat Express

The second new route is between Bengaluru and Belagavi, a key move to boost rural and regional connectivity in Karnataka.

This Vande Bharat train will depart from Belagavi at 5:20 am and reach Bengaluru by 1:50 pm. The return journey will begin at 2:20 pm and end at 10:40 pm.

The train is expected to operate six days a week. Timings and stops will enhance passenger flexibility for both work and leisure travel.

3. Amritsar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express

For pilgrims traveling to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, this new Vande Bharat train from Amritsar to Katra is a welcome relief.

Train No. 26405 will run from Amritsar to Katra, departing at 4:25 pm and reaching its destination at 10:00 pm.

On the return trip, Train No. 26406 will leave Katra at 6:40 am and arrive in Amritsar at 12:20 pm. The train will stop at Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar City, and Vyas.

This service will run six days a week, excluding Tuesday, making it a regular and reliable option for travelers.

PM Modi’s Vision for Indian Railways

These new launches reflect PM Modi’s continued efforts to modernize India’s railway network. The Vande Bharat Express is not just a faster alternative—it represents India’s push towards self-reliance and technological excellence.

“The Vande Bharat train will provide a comfortable and faster travel experience to the passengers going to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra,” said Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Rail Division.

Benefits for Commuters

  • Faster travel: All three new trains will reduce travel time significantly.
  • More frequency: Regular operations (3 to 6 days a week) provide flexible options.
  • Better connectivity: Links key cities, pilgrimage sites, and rural areas.
  • Modern amenities: Comfortable seating, onboard services, and efficient schedules.

These additions will benefit students, professionals, business travelers, and pilgrims alike. With the growing popularity of Vande Bharat trains, Indian Railways continues to prioritize speed, safety, and service.

Ticket Booking and Updates

Indian Railways has also made the ticketing process easier. Passengers can now book Vande Bharat train tickets just 15 minutes before departure, reducing last-minute travel stress.

Details on fares, coaches, and availability will be accessible on IRCTC and other official railway platforms.

Conclusion

The launch of three new Vande Bharat Express trains marks another milestone for Indian Railways. It showcases the government’s commitment to connecting cities faster, improving public transport, and enhancing the travel experience.

From Amritsar to Katra, Ajni to Pune, and Belagavi to Bengaluru, these new services will boost mobility, regional development, and tourism.

As Vande Bharat continues to roll ahead, passengers across India can look forward to more speed, more comfort, and more connectivity.
