Messages of Pride and Progress

The Prime Minister’s social media posts conveyed pride in Jharkhand’s cultural heritage and optimism for the state’s future. He extended his best wishes for the prosperity of families across the state and encouraged continued momentum on development initiatives.
“जनजातीय संस्कृति से समृद्ध गौरवशाली प्रदेश झारखंड के सभी निवासियों को राज्य के स्थापना दिवस की बहुत-बहुत शुभकामनाएं,” the Prime Minister said, emphasising the bravery, struggle and dignity woven into the region’s history.
Tribute to Birsa Munda on 150th Jayanti
On the occasion of Birsa Munda’s 150th Jayanti, observed alongside Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, the Prime Minister paid homage to the tribal freedom fighter’s invaluable contributions. He called Birsa Munda’s fight against foreign rule a legacy that will continue to motivate future generations.
Modi wrote that the nation remembers Birsa Munda’s dedication to defending the honour of the motherland and reiterated the government’s resolve to preserve and promote tribal heritage and welfare.
Government Focus on Tribal Welfare
The Prime Minister highlighted several ongoing efforts aimed at improving tribal livelihoods, including schemes for education, healthcare, housing, and connectivity. He noted that such policies are designed to uplift tribal communities and integrate them more fully into national development.
Modi’s message reiterated that the government seeks not only to remember tribal leaders symbolically but to ensure tangible improvements in living standards through sustainable welfare programmes and targeted interventions.
Symbolic Acts and National Commitment
In his remarks, the Prime Minister said he had taken a symbolic pledge for tribal welfare by applying soil from Birsa Munda’s village to his forehead — a gesture he described as a personal commitment to the cause of tribal upliftment.
He also referenced central initiatives that, he said, reflect this commitment, naming PM-Janman and other focused campaigns that aim to strengthen tribal villages and improve access to essential services.
Celebrating Cultural Identity
The Prime Minister praised efforts to celebrate tribal identity and culture through festivals, educational activities and community programmes. He said that such efforts ensure the preservation of unique customs and contribute to national unity.
