In a historic visit marking the first trip by an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait in 43 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the Gulf nation on Saturday. This visit follows the 1981 trip by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, underscoring the significance of strengthening India-Kuwait ties.
As part of his engagements, PM Modi met Abdullah Al Baroun and Abdul Lateef Al Nesef, two prominent Kuwaiti figures who have contributed immensely to cultural exchange between India and the Arab world. Abdullah Al Baroun is renowned for translating the Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata into Arabic, while Abdul Lateef Al Nesef played a pivotal role in publishing these works, ensuring their accessibility to Arabic-speaking audiences.
PM Modi commended their efforts, highlighting how their work fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of India’s rich cultural heritage across linguistic and geographical boundaries. The meeting symbolized the growing cultural and diplomatic bond between India and Kuwait.
