PM Modi Meets Qualcomm CEO to Discuss AI and Skilling

New Delhi, October 12, 2025: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met Mr. Cristiano R. Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, to discuss India’s progress in artificial intelligence, semiconductor development, and technology-driven skilling initiatives. The discussion highlighted the growing collaboration between India and Qualcomm in advancing AI, 6G technologies, and semiconductor capabilities.

Strengthening India’s AI and Semiconductor Missions

PM Modi appreciated Qualcomm’s commitment to supporting India’s Semiconductor and IndiaAI Missions. He highlighted the country’s unmatched talent pool and scale as critical advantages for developing next-generation technologies that will shape the global tech landscape.

Mr. Amon thanked the Prime Minister for the discussion and emphasized opportunities for building an Indian ecosystem in AI-driven devices such as smartphones, PCs, smart glasses, automotive, and industrial applications. He also noted the potential for India to lead in the transition to 6G technology.

Innovation and Skilling Opportunities

The conversation focused on how collaborations can strengthen India’s workforce in emerging tech sectors. By integrating AI, semiconductors, and 6G innovations, the partnership aims to create opportunities for reskilling and upskilling talent across education, industrial, and tech domains.

Both leaders underscored the importance of human-centric innovation, responsible AI adoption, and leveraging India’s tech ecosystem to enhance competitiveness globally.
