New Delhi, June 5, 2025 — As the nation marks 11 years of the NDA Government’s tenure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated the government’s unwavering dedication to Garib Kalyan — the welfare and upliftment of the poor. The Prime Minister highlighted the many initiatives and transformative schemes that have helped lift over 25 crore people out of poverty and improved the lives of millions across India.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of key welfare schemes such as:
-
PM Awas Yojana — providing affordable housing to millions of poor families.
-
PM Ujjwala Yojana — supplying clean cooking fuel to reduce health hazards caused by traditional fuels.
-
Jan Dhan Yojana — expanding financial inclusion by bringing banking services to every citizen.
-
Ayushman Bharat — offering accessible healthcare coverage to economically weaker sections.
These flagship programs have created significant improvements in housing, clean energy, banking access, and health services for the marginalized.
The Prime Minister also underscored the role of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in ensuring that welfare benefits reach the intended beneficiaries transparently and without delays. Digital inclusion and rural infrastructure development have further strengthened the delivery mechanism, allowing benefits to reach even the most remote corners of the country.
“Because of these efforts,” PM Modi added, “over 25 crore people have defeated poverty. The NDA remains committed to building an inclusive and self-reliant India, where every citizen has the opportunity to live with dignity.”
In his message in Hindi, PM Modi reflected on the government’s achievements over the past 11 years, saying,
The Prime Minister’s message reiterates the government’s focus on inclusive growth and poverty eradication through sustainable development policies.
Several welfare and infrastructure projects implemented under the NDA government have helped accelerate India’s journey towards becoming a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and a Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
