PM Modi to Launch ₹26,000 Crore Development Projects in Rajasthan, Boost Infrastructure and Clean Energy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Rajasthan on May 22, marking a significant push toward infrastructure and development in the state. His visit will begin in Bikaner, where he will offer prayers at the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke, followed by the inauguration of the redeveloped Deshnoke Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and the flagging off of the Bikaner-Mumbai Express train.

The Prime Minister will then proceed to Palana to lay the foundation stone, inaugurate, and dedicate to the nation a range of projects valued at over ₹26,000 crore. These initiatives span crucial sectors such as railways, roadways, power, water, and renewable energy, reflecting the government’s comprehensive approach to state and national development.

As part of his broader commitment to modernizing railway infrastructure, PM Modi will inaugurate 103 redeveloped Amrit Stations across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories. Designed to blend regional cultural aesthetics with modern amenities, these stations aim to elevate passenger experience and enhance accessibility for all, including Divyangjan. Stations like Deshnoke, inspired by temple architecture, and Begumpet, showcasing Kakatiya design, exemplify this fusion of heritage and functionality.

A major highlight of the visit includes a boost to Indian Railways’ green initiative, with the PM laying foundation stones and dedicating several electrified railway lines across Rajasthan. These efforts are expected to enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact as the nation moves closer to 100% railway electrification.

Road infrastructure is also set for a major upgrade. The Prime Minister will initiate the construction of vehicle underpasses, and the widening and strengthening of highways. These roadways, crucial for both civilian and defence purposes due to their proximity to the Indo-Pak border, are worth over ₹4,850 crore and are designed to improve logistics and connectivity within the state.

In alignment with India’s push for clean energy, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for multiple solar power projects and transmission systems. These projects, located in Bikaner, Nawa, Sirohi, and Mewar, are aimed at increasing the availability of renewable energy, improving power transmission, and reducing carbon emissions.

Further, the PM will launch and dedicate 25 key projects undertaken by the Rajasthan state government. These include the development of over 750 km of state highways, expansion of 900 km of new highways, and the inauguration of power projects in Bikaner and Udaipur. Additionally, the establishment of new nursing colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur marks a significant step toward strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in the region.

The visit will also focus on improving water infrastructure. Projects such as the Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation initiative in Jhunjhunu and the restructuring of urban water supply systems in towns across Pali district aim to ensure clean and reliable water access to communities.

Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming visit underscores a continued focus on inclusive growth and development, blending tradition with progress, and reaffirming the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for citizens in Rajasthan and beyond.
