PM Modi to Launch Key Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹12,200 Crore in Delhi on January 5

RR Team, January 5, 2025January 5, 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a series of landmark infrastructure and development projects in Delhi on Sunday, January 5, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The initiatives, worth over ₹12,200 crore, are expected to enhance connectivity and infrastructure in the national capital and surrounding regions.

Key Projects to Be Inaugurated

1. Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Corridor

A 13-kilometer stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS), worth ₹4,600 crore, will be inaugurated.

This section will connect Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad with New Ashok Nagar in Delhi, marking the first phase of Namo Bharat connectivity in the capital region.

PM Modi is scheduled to take a ride on the Namo Bharat train at 11:15 AM.

The corridor is expected to ease travel between Delhi and Meerut, providing high-speed, comfortable, and reliable transport for millions of commuters.

2. Delhi Metro Phase-IV Expansion

The Prime Minister will inaugurate a 2.8-kilometer section of the Delhi Metro Phase-IV project connecting Janakpuri and Krishna Park, valued at ₹1,200 crore.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the 26.5-kilometer Rithala-Kundli section of the Delhi Metro Phase-IV.

This project, worth ₹6,230 crore, will extend the metro’s Red Line to cover areas like Rohini, Bawana, Narela, and Kundli, enhancing connectivity in northwest Delhi and Haryana.

The extension is expected to improve access to residential, commercial, and industrial hubs in these regions.

3. Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) Building

A state-of-the-art building for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Rohini, costing ₹185 crore, will also be inaugurated.

The facility will include an administrative block, outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) blocks, and a dedicated treatment block, aiming to provide integrated healthcare services and advanced research infrastructure.

Significance of the Projects

These developments are set to boost Delhi’s infrastructure, improve regional connectivity, and provide better healthcare services. Authorities emphasize that these projects reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing urban infrastructure and easing the lives of citizens.

Residents are advised to stay updated on possible traffic restrictions due to the high-profile inaugurations.
