On April 26, 2025, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed a group of over 51,000 newly appointed youth, who received permanent government positions across various departments of the Central Government under the Rozgar Mela initiative. He proudly noted that India now leads the world in real-time digital transactions, with the youth playing a key role in this achievement.
Looking to the future, Modi discussed the recently announced Manufacturing Mission, which aims to bolster the ‘Make in India’ initiative and provide youth with opportunities to manufacture products that meet global standards. This mission is expected to benefit millions of MSMEs and small entrepreneurs while creating thousands of new jobs. The Prime Minister also shared optimistic projections about India’s economic growth, with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) affirming that India will continue to be the fastest-growing economy in the world. He highlighted milestones in the automobile and footwear industries and pointed out the growth in Khadi and Village Industries, which are now contributing over ₹1.75 lakh crore in turnover and creating countless jobs, especially in rural areas.
In addition to economic growth, the Prime Minister noted the remarkable developments in inland water transport, which have dramatically increased cargo movement and expanded the country’s network of National Waterways. These achievements are creating new opportunities for youth in sectors that are central to the nation’s progress.
Modi also spoke about the upcoming World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025), which will take place in Mumbai and provide a prestigious platform for young creators from India. This event will allow innovators in media, gaming, and entertainment to connect with global investors and industry leaders, showcasing the country’s creativity and technological advancements.
The Prime Minister was especially proud of the growing inclusivity within the country’s success stories, noting the increasing participation of women in all sectors.
