In a powerful display of confidence and solidarity with India’s armed forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Base in Punjab on Tuesday, just days after Pakistan falsely claimed it had destroyed India’s advanced S-400 air defence system stationed there. The visit was not just symbolic—it was a message to the nation and the world that India stands unwavering in the face of misinformation and aggression.

With calm resolve, the Prime Minister posed in front of the very missile system that Pakistan alleged had been targeted and destroyed, effectively debunking their claims. The move followed a wave of disinformation from Pakistan, including fabricated videos and exaggerated narratives about damages inflicted during the recent military exchange dubbed Operation Sindoor.
PM Modi’s visit to the airbase was also an emotional moment of connection with the armed forces. He spent time with the air warriors and soldiers, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their bravery and sacrifice. “It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation,” he shared in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
His words resonated deeply, especially at a time when tensions remain high following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. That incident sparked retaliatory measures, including Pakistani drone strikes across northern India, all of which were effectively countered by India’s defence systems. Despite the escalation, both nations recently agreed to a ceasefire to prevent further conflict.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs had earlier exposed Pakistan’s attempts to manipulate public perception, clarifying that claims about damage to the S-400 and BrahMos missile bases were entirely baseless. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi firmly dismissed the narrative, stating that not only were key installations unharmed, but other claims about damage to airfields in Sirsa, Jammu, Pathankot, and other locations were also false.
The S-400 Triumf, known in India as “Sudarshan Chakra,” is one of the most advanced long-range air defence systems in the world. Acquired from Russia under a $5.43 billion deal signed in 2018, the system can track and engage aerial threats across vast distances, providing a robust shield against hostile aircraft, drones, and ballistic missiles. Its deployment in Punjab in 2021 significantly bolstered India’s defensive capabilities along the western front.
The Prime Minister’s quiet but determined gesture at Adampur sent a clear message—not only to Pakistan, but to every Indian. It reflected a government that stands with its soldiers, values truth over propaganda, and remains steadfast in defending the nation’s sovereignty and security. Amid rising global tensions and regional uncertainties, such moments of unity and resolve offer reassurance to citizens and honor to those who protect them.
