PM Modi’s Diplomatic Mission: Strengthening Ties with France and the US

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant diplomatic journey, visiting France and the United States from February 10 to 14. His visit comes at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron and U.S. President Donald Trump, reflecting India’s growing strategic engagement with both nations.

In France, Modi will co-chair the AI Action Summit in Paris, a high-profile gathering of global leaders and technology CEOs focused on fostering collaboration in artificial intelligence. The summit aims to ensure AI development remains inclusive, secure, and beneficial to humanity. His visit will also serve as a platform to review the 2047 Horizon Roadmap for the India-France strategic partnership with President Macron. A key highlight will be the inauguration of India’s first consulate in France, located in the historic city of Marseille. He will also visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project, a multinational effort to harness nuclear fusion for sustainable energy, where India is an active participant. Additionally, Modi will pay homage to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World Wars I and II at the Mazargues War Cemetery.

Following his engagements in France, Modi will travel to the United States for a two-day visit. This marks his first meeting with President Trump since his re-election, though the two leaders have previously shared a strong rapport. Their discussions are expected to focus on deepening the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, particularly in areas such as technology, trade, defense, energy, and supply chain resilience. Given their past collaboration, Modi and Trump will seek to build upon previous achievements while charting a course for a stronger, future-oriented alliance.
