Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a three-day visit to Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Assam from February 23 to 25, marking a significant push towards development, investment, and cultural recognition. His itinerary includes laying the foundation stone for a major medical research institute, inaugurating global investment summits, and dedicating various infrastructure projects to the nation. His visit underscores his government’s commitment to economic growth, farmer welfare, and regional cultural heritage.
In Madhya Pradesh, the Prime Minister will visit Chhatarpur district on February 23 to lay the foundation stone of the Bageshwar Dham Medical and Science Research Institute in Garha village. The upcoming medical institute, worth over Rs 200 crore, aims to provide cutting-edge healthcare services, particularly for cancer treatment, and will offer free medical assistance to underprivileged patients. Later in the day, he will inaugurate the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal, a two-day event aimed at positioning Madhya Pradesh as a global investment hub. The summit will feature a diverse range of sessions covering sectors such as pharma, medical devices, transport, logistics, and tourism, with a special focus on attracting international partnerships. More than 60 countries, key policymakers, and over 300 prominent industry leaders will participate, making it a crucial event for economic growth in the region.
The next stop on the Prime Minister’s journey will be Bhagalpur, Bihar, on February 24. Here, he will release the 19th installment of the PM KISAN scheme, benefiting more than 9.7 crore farmers with direct financial assistance totaling over Rs 21,500 crore. The Prime Minister has consistently emphasized farmer welfare, and this initiative aligns with his vision of economic empowerment for agricultural communities. Additionally, he will mark the formation of the 10,000th Farmer Producer Organization (FPO), a milestone in his government’s efforts to ensure better remuneration for farmers. His visit will also include the inauguration of the Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Breeds in Motihari under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, which aims to enhance cattle breeding with advanced IVF technology and improve milk production. Further bolstering infrastructure, he will dedicate the Warisaliganj – Nawada – Tilaiya rail section and the Ismailpur – Rafiganj Road Over Bridge to the nation, enhancing connectivity for thousands of commuters.
In Assam, the Prime Minister’s itinerary reflects a blend of economic and cultural engagements. On the evening of February 24, he will attend the Jhumoir Binandini (Mega Jhumoir) 2025 programme in Guwahati. This event, featuring 8,000 performers showcasing the traditional Jhumoir dance of Assam’s Tea Tribe and Adivasi communities, marks the 200th anniversary of Assam’s tea industry and industrialization. It is a moment of pride for the region, celebrating the resilience and contributions of these communities to the state’s economy and cultural fabric.
On February 25, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati. This high-profile summit will feature ministerial and thematic sessions covering key economic sectors, along with a grand exhibition that highlights Assam’s industrial landscape and global trade partnerships. Over 240 exhibitors, along with industry experts, policymakers, and startups, are expected to participate, making it a crucial platform for investment and growth in the Northeast.
